BOUNDARY BRIGHTON AFTERMATH
We bid farewell to festival life last weekend at the ever modest and non-pretentious festival that is Boundary Brighton Festival. Held at Stanmer Park, a mere 25 minutes or so away from central Brighton, this laidback festival in its second year had ravers partying from day until night; when the sun beat down on the humbled park and even when the rain chucked it down.. Well then it just became about that Snapchat poncho life.
With some renowned names and some local ones, we were attracted to the festival when we heard one of 1xtra’s Hot For 2017 would be performing, as well as hosting their very own stage The Fedz Sound System. We had to salute The Fedz for bringing locals and party animals from across the UK together for one last mammoth party. Spinning some of 2017’s hardest tunes on the mainstage, mixed with their personal finesse of Soul, Reggae and R’n’B, tracks included “Best I Ever Had” and “Urban Tales.” They quite literally had crowds dancing in harmony, going from Stefflon Don, to Wheatus, Lauryn Hill, Oasis and J Hus; and gathering the masses can be difficult when you’re up against MK, Hannah Wants and Chase & Status but Boundary Brighton was all about good vibes and The Fedz had some infectious ones at that.
Another act that brought the energy was General Levy, thumping out D’n’B vibrations enough to start a small scale earthshake. Whilst Sonny Fodera gathered the House, Dance and Electro masses for soulfulness and party jams, Jaguar Skills brought his array of ninja Hip Hop beats.
Wicked food, fairground rides and beautiful souls added to the festival that wrapped summer up in style!
