51ST STATE FESTIVAL PREVIEW
51st State Festival is held at Trent Park, London and is described as an experience of multi genre sounds, set upon a beautiful background. Happening on Saturday 4th August, this is a festival that screams realness, a intimate festival, you’re able to bump into the artists playing on the day and hang out with people who are there for the music… not to pose or pull. People are really starting to take notice of this House fest and it shows when they’re now on 4th release tickets. Starting from £40, tickets are available here http://bit.ly/2p3onPV or for a little bit more you can enjoy the luxury of the VIP area. £65 tickets get you posher toilets, private bars, a lounge area and premium food stalls to enjoy.
But let’s take it back to what you really want, the music, as we introduce the stages that will take over Trent Park on one sunny day. GROOVE ODYSSEY will take you on a journey through time and back in 2017 this was one of the packed out areas and places to be seen. Whether you were a wee nipper or a teenager during the groove and funk era, you will most definitely feel the vibes here as Dimitri From Paris, Body & Soul, Soul Clap, Masters At Work and Louie Vega get you clapping.
Taking us smoothly onto the WE LOVE SOUL stage where we’ll be enjoying two absolute legends, so much so that the Queen has only gone and awarded them MBE’s. No need for introductions but let’s reveal that 1xtra and Soul Nation’s Trevor Nelson and Norman Jay who came into the music scene when he played many an unlicensed warehouse party… yeah we like that breaking the rules mentality.
We reckon you love a throwback as much as we do and that’s why we rate the BACKT095 stage, this was our favourite stage, probably because we were actually born when some of the tunes were first released. Check Dj Luck & MC Neat, Lonyo (Summer Of Love), Matt Jam Lamont, Norris Da Boss Windross, Scott Garcia and Masterstepz.
Get FOUND at this stage with the likes of the massive Todd Terry, Lee Foss, Derrick May and Derrick Carter and get that HOT WUK goodness with dancehall faves The Heatwave, shake a leg with Reggae’s finest Stylo G and keep the vibes and your ‘Heads High’ with Mr Vegas. Missing that House? Why not give STUDIO 51 some love with John Morales, The Reflex, Dr Packer, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Graeme P & Soul diva for their soulful House and Disco.
So that’s a wrap for now but we can’t stress how much of a hit 51st State Festival was last year!
