On the 12th August, music lovers across the world will migrate to Amsterdam, for what has become one of their biggest festivals to date. Appelsap, hosted on the east side at Flevopark (yes, you guessed correctly that it’s a popular park,) will introduce Hip Hop, Soul, R&B and progressive electronic music to the Dutch and other die hard festival heads.
With tickets from 47.50 euros and the option to combine tickets and accommodation for about the same price (that’s if you’re cool with sharing a dormitory,) makes for a cheap as chips day and night, with even more of an excuse to discover the city when the shows finished.
Originally a free street party, set up back in 2000, Appelsap now feature the creme de la creme of local and world famous music artists. Passing through from the UK will be Dave, J Hus, 67 and DJ Amy Becker, there’ll be presence from Noisey, Boiler Room and the Dam’s Red Light Radio, as well as US rapper Lil Wayne headlining and a discovery of new classics in the shape of 070 Shake, Killer Kamal, Fresku and Vic Crezee.
