BBC RADIO 1’S BIG WEEKEND HULL
Every year BBC Radio 1 gives 50,000 music lovers the chance to experience a free festival like no other. In the city of their choice, BBC Radio 1 have travelled far and wide across the UK, this year settling in Hull on 27th- 28th May, over the bank holiday weekend.
Didn’t score tickets? Well that makes two of us but it’s not all doom and gloom, as you can listen in live with Radio One, or even better don your finest festival clobber with a steady supply of beverages, within a respective distance of your bathroom. We love being knee deep at a festival but the coverage of Radio 1’s BIG WEEKEND and festivals like Glastonbury, are always stunningly captured, and it’s always nice to take a break from the cider showered skies.
No plans for the weekend? Then fill it with music and go about setting up the BBQ because it’s set to be melting. This weekend Hull will be getting hyped for a mix of transatlantic and British music stars, welcoming back the talented rapper, singer, director and writer that is Plan B ‘In the Name of Man.’ Check out pop stunners Zara Larsson, Katy Perry and Little Mix, vibes from Mura Masa and Disciples, Soul from Emeli Sande and Rag’n’Bone Man, and the party starters Rita Ora and Sean Paul. Worth sticking in your diary for 2018, this is a Glasto warm up like no other, reigning-in a collective of music genres, this music festival is the type that will see Stormzy and Kings of Leon types mixing, and Lana Del Rey lovers rubbing shoulders with James Arthur fans.
So stick on your DAB, power up that laptop or switch on the old telly box for a weekend that’s bursting with music goodness!
