Eastern Electrics will soon be upon us, we’ve got a weekend off this week but we know where we’ll be on the 4th and 5th August. Morden Park will be transformed into an Ibiza odyssey on the Saturday, dipping their toes in Jamaican culture on the Sunday and nodding their heads to the Old Skool garage of the 90’s, with a little bit of luck.. I mean salute to current day UK Grime to finish things off nicely.

Intrigued? You should be, so check out the ones that Backstaaage.com will not be missing this time next week…

Kicking things off with Saturday’s headlining act Jamie Jones, let us entice you with some summer deep house and techno… listen out for vocals from Katy B.

Jamie Jones VS Nookie ft Katy B- ‘Sound of Music

Talking of Katy B, remember back in 2011 when the Magnetic trio that was Magnetic Man brought us ‘Perfect Stranger?’ Well delight in musical goodness that Skream (one third of the trio) has his very own stage Skreamizm and here’s what we might get a little sample of.

Skream- ‘You Know, Right?’

Now you might remember this absolute throwback summer anthem, it commanded your time and the vocals that you could lend (otherwise you were probably one of those people miming!) This is of course Eric Morillo, your Saturday special guest with his hit ‘Live Your Life.’

We won’t stop there either, as Chris Lorenzo will keep the beats moving swiftly!

Chris Lorenzo- ‘Don’t Stop’

So if Saturday is a bit of you, tickets are still available from £59.95 tickets here

We won’t lie though, when Eastern Electrics was first announced we scrambled to get involved and then they dropped the bomb that David Rodigan would be shutting it down out of nowhere on the Sunday… erm our hearts can’t take surprises like that.

Other than our main main David Ram Jam Rodigan, we’re a little bit buzzed to catch those People Just Do Nothing creatures.. The one and only Kurupt FM.

Kurupt FM ‘Suttin Like Dat’

Well Garage is suttin like that but let’s take it waaaaay back to Oxide & Neutrino, the two from So Solid Crew that I feel made it absolutely acceptable to sample your guilty pleasure television show theme tune in a song. Note to self, must sample The Bill when I next pen a song.

Oxide & Neutrino ‘Bound 4 Da Reload’

Talking of tv show theme tunes, let us que CASISDEAD with his hypnotic ‘Pat Earrings’ which is major shout out to the legendary Eastender’s character Pat Butcher.

CASISDEAD ‘Pat Earrings’

Let’s keep things rolling with the UK king of D’n’B Friction, we’ve not heard too much of him lately but his recent ‘Dancing’ is accessible to those who aren’t feeling that hard core drum and bass… for those that are, don’t worry, Friction will bring it!

Friction ‘Dancing’

So we’re gonna wind things down with a master of Garage, the don that is Wookie, we love his recent tracks with talents including Eliza Doolittle & Zak Abel but we have to take it back to the old skool, otherwise we might have a fight on our hands.

Yours to enjoy, it’s Wookie ‘Battle

Tickets for Sunday are available from £30.00 here
