GET READY FOR DETONATE FESTIVAL 2017
Detonate Festival is a little bit of Backstaaage.com and it’s in a location that we wouldn’t necessarily put on the map when thinking about music festivals. Located in the East Midlands, Nottingham, Detonate will be bringing together over 85 artists and mixing in over 12,000 revellers for two days of mentalness this summer. The usually leafy Colwick Country Park will be transported into a House, Dance, Reggae and Grime garden of reason on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June.
Delve into the forest with the Hidden Woodland stage (new for 2017,) get heavy in the the Drum & Bass Big Top, do no wrong at the Main Stage and soothe yourself with big tunes at the Lakeside Stage. Take a break from the mundane and ‘wash away’ your cares with Wilkinson, General Levy, SG Lewis, Bondax and Cadenza.
Not only are we looking forward to letting go with the likes of Chase & Status, Sigma, Bondax and Jax Jones but we can’t wait to wander through vintage markets, fill up at the street stalls and indulge in body painting. You can take a break from the music with Detonates cocktails area and get all lovey dovey beneath the stars with an action packed firework show. In less than 6 weeks time you could be getting wild with Chris Lorenzo, Shy FX, The Heatwave, Congo Natty and Redlight. To break it down for you there’s Heidi, Noisia and Groove Armada for the Electro heads. Into Jungle and Drum ‘n’ Bass, then Camo & Krooked are your festival essentials!
Bringing the Grime is ‘made in the manor’ Kano, the godfather of Grime Wiley, AJ Tracey, Bugzy Malone and Ghetts, alongside the biggest UKG classics and fresh hits from Artful Dodger and Kurupt FM. Proving that with age there’s wisdom is one of my most loved Reggae/ Ska DJ’s David Rodigan with an extensive folder of tunes, he’s always busy around the world at global festivals.
Fancy doing it in style? Then VIP is the package for you, ensuring quicker festival entry, your own VIP area with access to deluxe toilets, bar area and seating area. If your patience wears thin in the queue line then you’re better off paying £71.50, upgrading from the standard and saving your mates the aggro and vast amounts of trips to the portaloos.
There’s not any camping at Detonate… let’s hope they change that BUT if you want to get that camping experience you’ve got Holme Pierpont, as well as hotels and hostels throughout the city centre which is only a mile away. Detonate festival kicks off from 11am to 11pm, so there’s plenty of time to get yourself to the afterparty if the night is still young in your eyes.
Tickets are available from £47.39 for day tickets and from £71.50 which is pretty good compared to other festivals, snap yours up here!
