V FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE V STREET STAGE
The V Street stage has just been announced as the newest addition for V Festival 2017. Powered by Utilita Energy, some of the freshest faces in pop will be in attendance across Chelmsford and Staffordshire on the 19th- 20th August.
They’re welcoming the best of British with Zak Abel, Imani Williams, Naations, Callum Beattie, Slang, Alex Ross and Jerry Williams.
Zak Abel is my pick of the talent, rising to fame with Gorgon City with ‘Unmissable,’ a track I get lost in. Zak has this mature, raspy and powerful voice that has lead to him working with acts including Kaytranda & Wookie. Listen to ‘Unstable’
We loved watching Sigala’s set last year, it was full of summer anthems and vocals from Brit School graduate Imani Williams, who will stand up in her own right this year. Showcasing tracks ‘Say You Do,’ and Sigala/ Blondie smash ‘Don’t Need No Money’.
Jerry Williams, yeah you’d be forgiven for assuming Jerry is a dude but it’s really an Indie Pop songstress with a notch of accolades under her belt, like Winner of Best Produced Release 2016 by The Unsigned Music Awards. She delivers a distinctively retro sound.
Check out ‘Mother’
Slang is something of intrigue, combining song, poetry and rap. There could definitely be similarities between him and the guitar grabbing Ed Sheeran; but his London twang adds an element of grit. ‘You alright, yeah?’
You’ll rate Naations if you’re a fan of Chase & Status and Rudimental, as this music duo encompass strong vocals and intricate production. Their latest offering had us hooked from the get go! ‘Alive’
You’ll instantly understand who Alex Ross is when he drops ‘Dreams’ at V festival this summer. Featuring Dakota and US auto-tune king T-Pain, the Electro Pop producer is reviving Gabrielle’s classic hit.
Scotsman Calum Beattie will bring people together with his moving Pop track ‘We Are Stars.’ ‘We Are Stars’
Not a bad addition to the line- up when you realise Pink, Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne, Jason Derulo, Ella Eyre, Clean Bandit and James Arthur are already going to be there.
Let’s just say, you might go POP after a day at V!
