HIGH STREET KID HITS THE TOP 20
So last week MoStack released his mixtape ‘Hight Street Kid‘. The mixtape featured tracks like ‘Ussy Ussy‘ and ‘Screw & Brew‘ featuring Mist which you can watch here.
After millions of views and seeing all the people doing the Jiggy Bop you could sense MoStack had the country’s support for this project. So much so that High Street Kid hit the top 20 and went to Number 16 in the UK album charts. Congratulations to the North London rapper and his team.
If the labels weren’t calling before they are definitely calling now. The question is does an artist like MoStack need a label? With the likes of Skepta, Giggs and Stormzy flying the independent flag and doing well, probably not. However, there are many examples of acts that are doing well on labels with the likes of J Hus and Krept and Konan who both charted high with their debut albums.
I guess it comes down to the individual to see whats right for them. Whatever MoStack chooses to do BacksAAAge will be supporting. If you still haven’t heard the mixtape you can buy or stream it here.
